The role involves re-underwriting loans to a prescribed method; this includes reviewing loan files for completeness, accuracy and adherence to client/lender policies and procedures. Analysing credit documents, including, but not limited to, mortgage/loan applications, credit history, income documents, title documents, property valuations and all applicable financial documents. Identify portfolio risks resulting from client's underlying business practices, underwriting, and/or fraud exposure. In addition candidates must be computer literate and numerate and able to demonstrate analytical thinking. The ability to work as part of a team is a key factor as is the capacity to work with little supervision.

Key Skills and Requirements


5+ years in the residential mortgage/financial services industry, experienced in holding/operating an underwriting mandate

Team player, who is supportive, reliable, responsible and adaptable

Ability to produce high-volume, high-quality output

Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task

Attention to detail, with the ability to plan ahead and meet targets

Good keyboard skills


The work is normally carried out on the premises of the lenders or the loan servicers so contractors need to be able to travel and be willing to stay away from home whilst working.

Please note this is a self-employed position, all assignments are short term projects and regular work cannot be guaranteed.
